Frequently Asked Questions

I cannot learn any IR keys. What is the remedy for this?

You should first verify that your device remote is functioning properly and the correct IR path is in place - use the remote in conjunction with a ZAC-60 to control the device as a quick way to see that the remote and the ZON system's IR path are working properly.

When in learning mode (as indicated by the ZIR-232's status LED rapidly flashing green, amber and red) the source remote's IR emitter should be placed directly in front of the module's IR learning port, about 1/4 to 1/2 inches away.

If you still cannot learn any key by following the above, there may not be any available memory onboard the ZIR-232 to store the learned key. The ZIR-232 has a finite amount of memory in which to store your learned keys. On average, one can store 15 to 25 learned keys in the ZIR-232. The exact amount depends upon the size of each learned key.
